High stress, people oriented and performance based job
Armored Transport Officer (Former Employee), Broadview, ILSeptember 9, 2013
Pros: coworkers, armed, importance of job
Cons: management, pay and favoritism
Clock in, check for scheduled assignment, inventory your shipment and laundry list of stops, check vehicle, load vehicle and depart to route, retain receipts of every transaction, perform stops in timely, courteous manner and stay alert to your surroundings, return to base and unload vehicle. I learned how stressing armored transport can be and how – more... important it is to cover your partner's back. Coworkers are helpful/professional. The hardest part of the job is learning the routes, keeping the pace of the routes and driving a vehicle with several blind spots. The most enjoyable part was getting to see the city and returning safely to base. – less

a difficult horrifying place
ARMORED CAR DRIVER / TVM TECHNICIAN (Former Employee), 100 Clover Place Edison, NJJuly 7, 2013
Pros: no lunch breaks no healithcare
Cons: there was no short breaks and healthcare was too expensive.
I spent my time in Garda Armored Car Services as a employee who had difficulties and it would be very hard for me to work with unusual peoples with domestic problems because of the situation at hand and since that I have a military experience background they would hate to follow the way the job should be operated and only two percent liked me in Garda – more... and before that I became a TVM Technician and did far better than others and some employees reported Garda for being insufficient at work. I was very neat in appearance and my boots stayed highly shined and I never missed a day of work and I would punch in at 6:55am exactly everyday for two years and 9 months and even when I was ill at times. I served Garda very well and covered myself on paper by using a notebook that I would carry everyday to work. The surrounding wasn't fun and the only way that you could have fun at work that if you and that partner of yours liked each others and I only endured misery and stress but I accomplished one advancement from Garda and that was a TVM Technician. I think that my life will be much better without Garda in it and I have learn to move on and learn from what has truly happened to me while I was there.
Note: I would try very hard to be accepted in Garda but ninety-eight percent rejected me because I was different and no one ever wanted to comprehend me but only five peoples for two years and nine months did and just about all the employees didn't want to teach the new employees the outline of the job because of the fear of losing their job as an armored car personnel and that's how I had to live my life in Garda in Edison, New Jersey. – less

I enjoyed working at this company. It was easy work, easy to learn if you pay attention. This company is willing to work with your schedule needs. However, management could use some improvement. No type of structure and unprofessional at times.

Schedule is what you make it, the faster you work the faster you get home. Management could use some help in the logistics department and organization of daily operations. To focused on the bottom line, and misses all areas to save/ grow through there employees.

Driver/Messenger (Former Employee), Smyrna, GAMarch 4, 2013
I would arrive at work at 6:30am clock in and then check over my truck so that it will run properly. After which would deliver cash on a route to specific companies like target or banks. Management did what they could to compensate for any issues that arose. Was pretty friendly with my co-workers. I was setup with someone different every other week – more... so it was easy to get friendly with my co-workers. The hardest part of the job was having to wait for the area to appear safe to deliver to the companies. The most enjoyable was meeting someone new everyday. – less

Cash Vault Teller Supervisor (Former Employee), 97 Vantage pt drive Cayce, Sc 29033January 26, 2013
Pros: the workload depended on the day.
Cons: when vehicles would break down in the middle of a bank run.
A typical day at work consists of placing correct change needed for the day in the armor truck, cleaning and maintenance of the vehicle. I was in charge of delivering money to venues such as retails and banks. Filling cash orders and/or accepting and verifying large volume cash deposits. Management was ok; they dealt with important issues when employees – more... would bring them. The hardest part of the job was the stress level, the thought and the possibility of being held at gun point or having the armor truck robbed. The positive aspect of the job were meeting vast amount of different people through out the day. – less
