About Games Workshop
Games Workshop Group (GWG) lets ferocious armies clash without the drawback of actual bloodshed. Founded in 1976, the company designs and manufactures model soldiers, game systems, and accessories for tabletop war-gaming. Its best-known lines include Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000, and it holds the license to design games based on The Lord of the Rings – more... trilogy. GWG's products are sold through its Games Workshop chain of more than 330 hobby stores (generating about half of sales), catalogs, and website, as well as in more than 3,700 toy and hobby shops globally. The company has production facilities in the UK, the US, and China.
Besides war games and their components, Games Workshop Group fosters long-term hobbies through sales of materials required for painting, modeling (such as for landscapes), and collectible gaming miniatures. The company also publishes White Dwarf, a monthly hobby magazine. – less
