Gambles Ontario Produce, a wholesale fresh produce provider is looking for an Operations Supervisor.

Shifts may vary. Must be available to work either Saturday or Sunday

Description

The primary function of this role is to consistently promote the growth and development of Gambles and its employees while assuming the following job responsibilities:

  • Provides direct daily supervision to the warehouse employees to ensure the safe

clean and efficient operation of the warehouse that meets service standards and
operational goals

  • Assist in training and motivating employees to increase operational effectiveness
  • On a daily basis, develop and implement shipping and receiving work schedules

and assignments to ensure effective and efficient operation

  • Is trained on all warehousing systems necessary to the efficient operating of the

warehouse. This includes the edible software and any other system deemed
necessary by the operation

  • Direct the operation of the warehouse employees to achieve prescribed objectives
  • Schedules overtime as required to meet production and cost objectives
  • Supervise all inbound and outbound shipments to ensure they are accurate,

meet quality standard and are carried out in a timely manner

  • Ensure that all records and reports for warehouse activity are prepared on a

timely basis and effectively maintained

  • Reinforces Employee safety awareness by communicating equipment/procedure

changes to employees. Provides general communication on relevant safety
issues and concerns

Minimum Requirements

  • A college diploma in business administration or related logistics field with some

experience, or, an equivalent amount of technical training, warehouse operations
experience and experience supervising employees within a progressive employee
relation environment

  • Must possess front-line supervision experience in addition to demonstrated skills

in leadership, organization and communication as necessary

  • Must be capable of applying effective communication skills orally and in writing
  • Must have proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience in and a solid understanding of warehousing and distribution.
  • Must be familiar with all material handling equipment
  • Must possess knowledge of all appropriate health and safety legislation
  • Must be capable of coordinating the training of subordinates to ensure the adequate

development of work skills

  • Must be computer literate
  • Must have a demonstrated record of providing excellence in customer service
