GSE-R-US : Founded in 1998 and headquartered near Pearson airport, GSE-R-US is a recognized name in the aircraft ground support industry. We specialize in the sale and refurbishment of an extensive variety of equipment servicing landed aircrafts.
The Purchasing and Administration Lead is principally responsible for working in close collaboration with the operational team with an objective of gaining an understanding of the various aircraft parts which need to be replaced, refurbished and purchased. This individual will conduct market analyses search and negotiate with domestic and international suppliers for best available prices, keeping records of equipment purchased while maintaining that the manufacturing shop is stocked in an accurate and timely manner.
The Purchasing and Administration Lead also performs administrative and clerical duties – including but not limited to – documenting purchase orders, entering data to spreadsheets, creating correspondence, answering phone inquiries, filing documents and ordering supplies. This position requires a highly organized, motivated, and team-oriented individual who is able to operate under tight deadlines while working with detailed information.
The successful candidate will need to conduct market analyses with speed and accuracy and be able to readily establish positive relationships with multiple suppliers. This position serves as the key mediating role between suppliers and management. We are specifically looking for a creative thinker who excels in multi-tasking and prioritizing work assignments with a focus on bottom-line results and contribution to obtaining cost-reduction initiatives.

o Work closely with the operational team to understand what parts need to be prepared and purchased
o Answer and direct incoming calls, organize mail, file, and general office upkeep
o Support internal payroll by entering accurate time data in Excel
o Maintain records of goods ordered and received while keeping orderly and accurate records on purchases
o Conduct analysis to assess present and future material availability, ensuring the manufacturing shop is stocked on-time and at the best available prices
o Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment
o Locate domestic and international vendors of materials, equipment or supplies and determine product availability and terms of sales, best prices and negotiate the best deals, and follow up on purchased orders
o Drive to pick up parts from our suppliers (approximately twice a week)
o Coordinate and negotiate for transportation and logistics (freight for incoming and outgoing equipment)
o High school diploma or higher
o Valid driver’s license is mandatory
o Mechanical or industrial experience with a focus on heavy equipment purchasing, servicing, and/or manufacturing preferred but not a must
o Experience using word processing, spreadsheet and database applications (Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook)
o Organizational and time management skills sufficient to independently establish priorities and coordinate and accurately complete competing assignments within established timeframes in a fast-paced environment
o Demonstrated experience in analysis and planning with ability to analyze and anticipate situations, define problems and objectives, recognize alternatives and formulate solutions using good judgement and discretion
o Experience with or knowledge of budget and purchasing procedures and ability to make judgments regarding alternative means of procuring materials or services based on cost and serviceability
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people at various levels within an organization serving as key mediator between the company and its suppliers
o Experience negotiating with suppliers for the best prices and terms while maintaining cooperative working relationships
o Ability to recall, retrieve and communicate detailed or technical information clearly, accurately and concisely
***Hourly wages begin at $14 per hour for the first two months; Potential increase of up to $20 per hour for a high performing employee that has accumulated considerable experience with us.
