District Manager

As an integral member of the management team, the Retail District Manager role is to contribute to the achievement of the company's objectives by increasing the sales and profitability within our retail sites while developing, managing and overseeing a team of Store Managers.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage approximately 15 direct reports including assessing capabilities, performance management, training, coaching, hiring, terminations, discipline etc. in partnership with Human Resources
  • Assist store managers in resolving employee relations matters*Foster and maintain excellent working relationships with clients
  • Proactively identify potential client concerns/issues and work with site managers to correct course*Improve retail revenue and profitability by developing strategies to meet sales growth targets
  • Coach and guide Store Managers on strategies for increasing sales, up-selling and seeking out new business
  • Identify sales opportunities including extra billing
  • Maximize copy impressions at each retail store
  • Strategize and suggest new products/services to sell at retail stores
  • Achieve a high level of operational effectiveness, client experience and sales performance for each site
  • Promote our services in local communities surrounding the retail stores by attending community events and other initiatives
  • Ensure sites are maximizing equipment, minimizing waste and controlling costs
  • Work closely with Sales & Marketing to incorporate new initiatives, marketing plans and programs affecting sales
  • Work with the Business Analyst and Finance to manage staffing levels in accordance with blackout schedules and volumes
  • Follow and ensure corporate processes and procedures are in place and adhered to; ensure consistency in processes, systems and programs across operations of sites
  • Work with marketing to improve the look and feel of the stores to ensure proper branding
  • Conduct Quarterly reviews with clients
  • Participate in RFP process
  • Travel to various locations on a daily basis
  • Other duties as required.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Preference will be given to individuals with a Post-secondary education in Business Administration or related field
  • Minimum 2-5 years' experience in a retail environment and 2-5 years' experience managing multiple sites in an operations role
  • Experience in a digital print & copy environment
  • Client-facing experience
  • Knowledge of graphic design, reproduction, electronic print, bindery, customer service and office administration functions
  • Strong relationship management skills and business acumen
  • Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong problem solving and prioritizing ability
  • Ability to lead and motivate staff
  • Some Marketing knowledge related to the Retail environment (an asset)
  • Knowledge of mailroom operations and shipping/receiving (an asset)
