We are currently looking for a Sales Manager who will be responsible for generating revenue for the hotel and contributing to a positive, enthusiastic environment.

Essential Functions:

Develops new and existing accounts.
Solicits business through pre-planned personal sales calls, mailers, marketplaces, attendance at receptions, promotions, telephone calls etc.
Promote awareness to group markets via travel, providing presentations and personal sales calls.
Researches market in order to identify potential sources of business within the market segment(s) assigned.
Accurately confirms all bookings, quotes and negotiates rates while adhering to hotel rate structure, credit policies and general hotel policies and procedures.
Maintain communication/relationship with other XXXX toward achieving pre-determined revenue goal.
Promote local awareness through maintaining relationships with tourism authorities.
Conduct tours of property to meeting planners and other potential customers while informing of all hotel services available; entertain customers on property as well as during site inspections.
Work closely with the catering & banquet department.
Coordinate all sales related activity under the direction of director of sales; negotiate contract specifics to achieve maximum profitability while satisfying customer needs.
Have a working knowledge of local and regional competition.
Conduct all sales related interactions with the highest level of professionalism while maintaining specified XXXXX standards.
Assist with all guest inquiries within the sales and marketing department, including assisting with high telephone volume and walk-in site inspections.
Participate in XXXXX specific, local, and XXXXXX sponsored sales blitz, and telephone blitz activity.
Assist operations team in emergency situations.
Maintain relationships with peers at local hotels.

Skills Required:

Sales experience in the hotel/hospitality industry
Strong prospecting skills and proven records of increasing market share
Driven by results, and self motivated but also a team player
Excellent communication skills
Must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to work independently
Must have excellent time management and organizational skills
Good problem solving skills
Minimal travel to surrounding area
Able to travel out of town for Trade Shows, seminars etc.
