Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, you will be responsible for ensuring that the necessary products and materials are available in a timely manner, optimizing fill rates, sourcing new products and transportation, and reducing costs through direct/indirect supply chain and inventory management. Other responsibilities include:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
Forecasting product demand to meet customer needs.
Prepare and deliver purchase orders to a variety of partners and vendors
Purchase and co-ordinate material requirements in accordance with client contracts.
Manage inventory levels, with a focus on turn and fill rates.
Evaluate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies and determine product availability and terms of sales.
Control import, cross border and brokerage fees
Represent the Company in a professional manner
1-3 years experience in a distribution environment
Preference will be given to those with post-secondary education
Working knowledge of materials management programs
Working knowledge of construction, industrial and packaging supplies
Ability to work under minimal supervision
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proficiency with the MS Office Suite
Sense of personal responsibility and strong work ethic
Post-secondary Education a definite asset; candidates pursuing an education in supply chain management will be given preference.
