QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

 Post secondary education – or equivalent in job related experience (2-3 years)
 Knowledge of scrap metal material, processing and packaging an asset
 Knowledge of International Traffic and Logistics (including CTPAT regulations, PIP programs and customs requirements)
 Knowledge of Ocean container logistics, rules, regulations and Inco terms
 Strong communication and organizational skills both verbally and written
 Strong working knowledge of computer programs (Word, Excel, Outlook etc)
 Ability to be a Team Player and work under pressure with tight deadlines
 Clean employee record, free from disciplines or corrective actions for past 12 months

RESPONSIBLITIES:

The Logistics Traffic Coordinator will process and verify all necessary Traffic / Logistics requirements for inbound and outbound freight.

Duties Include:

  • Set up all Purchase and Sales contracts received within the department
  • Check and confirm each order is accurate and the appropriate inventory is ready to ship with completed paperwork while maintaining compliance with Organizational standards
  • Source out best possible freight rates and book transport accordingly
  • Coordinate and book appointments with customers
  • Issue freight purchase orders, maintain open orders with priority of the purchase contracts
  • Maintain online shipping schedule for the Organization
  • Record/ log - customs information for inbound logistics and C-Tpat seal designations
  • Prepare online bookings for ocean freight and CCIC applications
  • Daily yard equipment check and report
  • Other duties as required
