Not a good company
Receiver/Warehouse (Former Employee), Edmonton, ABNovember 3, 2014
I had great co-workers and we did our best each day, unfortunately management kept on making cuts to staff and expecting those who remained to be able to handle the work loads with no delays, all the staff on the floor did there best make the company successful however it was a very stressful place to work at.

Cons: slowest computer it network ever.
The big thing at GE is "Simplification", too many managers justifying their jobs with silly make work projects. Now they want to simplify what they screwed up. Worst place I ever worked at.

Administrative Coordinator (Current Employee), Milton, ONOctober 30, 2012
Pros: the ge name come with a lot of benefits
Cons: when working for a large organization you tend to get lost in the numbers
I started working for GE through an aquisition. My co-workers are the best, we are a small unit that have worked together well, we consider our selves to be the perfect fit. The culture is quite different from most and there is learning, learning and more learning. There are lots of webx and meeting to circulate information. The hardest part of the – more... job is month end when you just have to have everything done right on time with no room for error, but we always manage to get it done right. – less

Chemical Operator (Former Employee), Bakersfield, CADecember 11, 2014
Pros: paid holidays and vacations
Cons: healthcare is lacking
I really enjoyed my time working for GE, however there can be some improvement on their training processes. The more experienced employees don't take time to train you the right way so you can be more productive.

A great experience with a strong industry
Intern (Former Employee), Houston, TXNovember 24, 2014
The internship at GE was an exceptionally enriching experience. I was able to put the information I learned in classes to work in an industrial capacity while gaining vital experience in the oil and gas and manufacturing industries. I was exposed to metallurgy and raw materials fabrication in addition to rough machining, welding, and fine machining – more... or finishing. – less

Analyst (Former Employee), Atlanta, GANovember 17, 2014
Pros: great learning opportunites
Cons: contract only positions
My manager was a very good instructor, I came into this position with no experience in engineering. He gave me the tools and the training and set me free. I enjoyed the challenges of this position so much that I excelled in it.

Warranty engineer & Commissioning Engineer (Former Employee), Duifferent place depend on site locationsSeptember 22, 2014
For a power plant warranty engineer, you don't have any specific time schedule because the operators are not familiar to the system and you are always facing with technical errors caused by personnel so it is very important, before any trouble shooting technical activities, stay calm and perform supportive technical assistance for the operation team – more... to manage and conduct their skills to avoid next probable mistakes.

therefore it is not only your technical knowledge useful for performing your job but also public behavior and personal supportive quality factors are important. – less

Warehouse Worker (Former Employee), Deer Park, TXSeptember 17, 2014
Sometimes helping the picking department but my job responsibility was to pack everything that needed to go out.

There really wasn't much to learn there as they don't teach much.

Management needs to be more organized and streamlined.
