Fast passed and challenging
Administrative Coordinator (Current Employee), Milton, ON – October 30, 2012
Pros: the ge name come with a lot of benefits
Cons: when working for a large organization you tend to get lost in the numbers
I started working for GE through an aquisition. My co-workers are the best, we are a small unit that have worked together well, we consider our selves to be the perfect fit. The culture is quite different from most and there is learning, learning and more learning. There are lots of webx and meeting to circulate information. The hardest part of the – more... job is month end when you just have to have everything done right on time with no room for error, but we always manage to get it done right. – less

GE is great if you're in a core business
Customer Support Technician (Former Employee), Hatfield, PA – June 3, 2013
Pros: great people, strong product, good customers
Cons: lack of support from corporate
GE is a strong company that isn't going to up and disappear on you unexpectedly. However, if you're not working in one of the core GE businesses life isn't very good and very rocky. You don't get support from upper management outside your business or building. You aren't important and you feel it.

The good things were the business I was working with – more... specific. The product I was working with was a great and strong product despite the lack of marketing and technology support from the corporate HQ. The people are all fantastic and work hard and support each other across team boundaries.

My role was customer support, which always has its ups and downs. Overall they're good people and it's a challenging environment and no two days were the same. I loved the work and the people, but I wasn't so fond of GE's management. – less

Useless
Sourcing Specialist (Former Employee), Doha, Qatar – June 3, 2013
Pros: facilities like laptop, mobile, vehicle, office and online training for compliance.
Cons: it is not a six sigma, it is a cheap format of management.
It is a Company where Career is ruined and employees are harassed.

I worked to my best and gave better results and my Line Manager kept me harassing on shoes, trousers, shaving. I had paid petrol and car rentals from my pocket to complete the job and company paid my last month salary after 2 Years.

Fast paced, long hours but great hardworking team.
Membrane Fabricator Lead - 2nd Shift Lead (Former Employee), Watertown, MA and later Westborough, Ma – April 19, 2013
Pros: great benefits and compensation.
Cons: for me a long 72 mile a day commute.
Though fast paced, often difficult, the feeling of accomplishment working with a great crew made it fun and rewarding. Fortunate enough to have a very talented, hard working crew that could laugh and work through often tough situations.

Often the hardest part of the job involved dealing with not having supplies needed to complete jobs.
As well, working – more... an off shift, some of my extremely hard working, talented crew and accomplishments often were relatively invisible. – less

Sales Manager (Current Employee), Irvine, CA – April 17, 2013
I have learned various business aspects of the industry working as a sales manager at GE. The culture here is great. Management is very professional and lets you choose your style of work as long as you are successfull at what you do. I have experienced and gained knowledge from different professions like marketing, sales, engineering, finance and accounting – more... with this role.
The most enjoyable part of my job is that i have the luxory to plan and go to market with my customers based on my understanding and relationship with them. – less
