GJ Cahill has an immediate requirement for a Purchasing Coordinator to support our ongoing operations in the St. John’s, Newfoundland.
GJ Cahill’s Purchasing Coordinator will assist with both corporate and project procurement functions. He/she will be responsible for soliciting quotations, negotiating prices, issuing purchase orders and expediting materials in accordance with company policy and procurement terms and conditions. The successful candidate will order materials and services as negotiated and appropriately approved, review field requisitions to determine the best sources of supply and develop additional sources of supply for difficult or critical items. He/she will also provide pricing and close the delivery feedback loop to the estimating and project management teams as a means for continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will have 3-5 years’ experience in electrical/mechanical field and possess proficient Microsoft Office computer skills. They will have strong oral and written communication skills and be organization and detail oriented. PMAC Certificates in Purchasing, Principles of Inventory, Principles of Buying and/or Laws of Competitive Bidding would be a definite asset.
