Are you as passionate about Kananaskis Country as we are?
The Friends of Kananaskis Country Cooperating Association is a non-profit charitable society whose mission is to cooperate with the Alberta government and community to engage in the sound stewardship of Kananaskis Country through participation and education. We are seeking a full-time Summer Project Assistant to support our Trail Care program.
As the Project Assistant, you will work with the Program Coordinator to liaise with volunteers to match their skills with suitable Trail Care days, maintain the effective administration of our Canmore office, help in tracking statistics for Trail care, and support our social network sites- Facebook and Twitter. Our ideal candidate has a passion for the outdoors and for Kananaskis Country, has excellent communication skills to work with volunteers and stakeholders, has the ability to work independently and consistently with a high degree of detail and problem solving skills, and must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends. With a Valid First Aid certificate, a Class 5 driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for occasional use (may be on dusty gravel roads), our candidate must be prepared to carry a pack (up to 20 kg) and work outdoors performing physical labour in a variety of weather conditions.
Preference will be given to individuals residing in Canmore or surrounding areas as an ongoing presence in the Canmore office is required. We offer $15/hour on 38.75 hours per week.
Sound exciting? We think it is. For further information, you can see the full description on our website, www.kananaskis.org (if this is not yet posted, be patient a few days),
