This permanent, full-time role with our manufacturing client in the SE of Calgary has the following responsibilities:
~ Working with the Engineering and Manufacturing Groups, provide AutoCAD design and support services used in the production of PVC products.
~ Ensure compliance with company and industry standards and practices.
~ Execute drafting duties, including the verification of drawings.
~ Revise and/or establish guidelines and standards.
~ Conduct in-house testing (air, water and structural) of manufactured products, and prepare products for testing by external organizations.
~ Verify supplemental equipment to be used with various products, and maintain supplier and manufacturing data/drawings.
~ Develop and revise fabrication manuals and documentation.
~ Maintain a list of dies in tooling, and update as required.
~ Compile AAMA and NFRC test reports.
~ Provide technical information to customers and sales representatives as required.
~ Request quotes from steel and aluminum tooling companies for reinforcing designs.
~ Support company initiatives that strive for continuous improvement, operational excellence and a healthy, safe work environment.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and behaviors:
~ AutoCAD certified
~ Fluent with MotionCAD, 2-dimensional drawings in AutoCAD 13, and CAD commands
~ Experience with AutoCAD 3D is a definite asset
~ Advanced computer competencies in: Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access and Outlook
~ Knowledge of Solid Works and SAP would be an asset
~ Knowledge of manufacturing, construction, and specifically the extrusion industry, is an asset
~ Highly proficiencient written and verbal English communication skills; competencies in other languages is an asset
~ Team player
~ Demonstrated analytical skills
~ Capable of juggling multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
