Sales Responsibilities:

  • Achieves from all sources, business not presently using the Four Points and maintains the market that is currently utilizing the Four Points
  • Completes weekly sales calls to increase catering business (social, corporate & weddings)
  • Inquires of every client if they require guest rooms
  • Follows the terms and conditions for all functions booked
  • Maximizes Food & Beverage revenues, meeting room revenues and guest room revenues from all catering accounts
  • Books all internal functions, arbitrations and smaller functions and utilizes all aspects of the Delphi system
  • Opens Group Masters one week in advance of arrival for catering events
  • Assembles catering kits on a weekly basis
  • Participates in appropriate tradeshows, sales calls and sales blitzes to build clientele base
  • Suggests marketing strategies to increase catering revenues and solicits past clients for possible future bookings

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Maintains an understanding of terms and conditions for all meetings, conferences and social functions
  • Understands and maintains an awareness of Group Master one week in advance of the arrival of catering clients
  • Maintains understanding of daily billing processes and ensures accuracy and timely completion of those processes
  • Prepares and checks banquet event orders for accuracy
  • Liaises daily with Banquet and Kitchen departments to ensure open communication for the successful execution of events
  • Completes weekly filing of all catering & conference billings
  • Completes weekly filling of amenity boxes for meeting & conference clients
  • Prepares daily billing and ensures accuracy

Other Responsibilities:

  • Provides both scheduled and unscheduled sales tours of the hotel and conference centre to potential and existing clients
  • Assists with local community promotions and hotel client events as required
  • Actively supports both the Director of Sales and the Catering Sales Manager
  • Works cooperatively and in alignment with all other team members to help achieve property goals.
  • Fully engages and embraces Service Culture core values of the Four Points brand in daily processes
  • Maintains compliance with and supports all hotel policies and procedures
  • May be required to share in Lobby Lizard shifts by greeting and directing guests to appropriate meeting rooms
  • May be required to attain information from competitor lobby sales boards
  • Prepares thank you cards from past functions as directed by the Catering Sales Manager

Skills & Knowledge Required:

  • Sales experience required and knowledgeable of current marketing strategies
  • Effective use of all aspects of Delphi system
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office to produce professional proposals and other business correspondence
  • Professional and courteous communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to provide effective coaching to develop and support direct reports

Working Conditions:
Office Hours Monday- Saturday 7:30-6:00 PM

  • Must be flexible to work weekends and holidays as required based on hotel functions.
  • Schedules are decided amongst Catering Managers in the Department.
