Forest City Fire Protection & Security is looking for a Credit Risk & Accounts Receivable Administrator. This individual is motivated, organized, and personable willing to contribute their experience and expertise in the area of credit risk assessment and AR collections. Responsibilities will include updating, maintaining, supervising and recommending credit policies and procedures, including the investigation of new customers, extending credit lines, recommending credit limits and follow-up. In the area of collections, a key mandate is to notify customers of delinquent accounts to solicit payment arrangements. Duties include receiving payment and posting amount to customer’s account; preparing statements to credit department if customer fails to respond; and keeping records of collection and status of accounts. This position involves diplomatic interaction with customers to collect payments and support any account inconsistencies in order to facilitate swift payment of invoices due to the organization.

The Credit Risk & Accounts Receivable Administrator is a full-time position reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

Credit Risk
Evaluate and review credit applications
Recommend credit applications with credit limits
Ensure credit policies and procedures are followed according to established guidelines and applicable legislation
Prepare credit reports
Recommend modification to credit policy and procedures
Investigate and document credit limit increases, annual reviews and new applications.

Accounts Receivable
Contact customers to secure payment information, address disputes and/or provide necessary backup and documentation as required until full debt is satisfied.
Make arrangements for payment of outstanding and late accounts; escalate transfer to proper authorities as necessary
Maintain accurate customer files with all applicable correspondence and report to Chief Financial Officer on status as required.
Build working relationships with internal departments to resolve customer disputes in a timely manner.
Review all credit balances, refunds, and adjustments, and apply adjustments and/or corrections to corporate billing records.
Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial transactions as they relate to the organization and its customers.

Qualifications
College diploma (or higher) in Credit Risk Management or Collections and/or a minimum 5 years’ experience. Professional designation in Credit Risk Management would be beneficial
Construction Industry accounting knowledge and experience
Familiarity and understanding of construction lien rules
Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage customer account records
Must possess a high level of moral judgment for handling confidential information and monetary transactions
Strong diplomatic, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills in order to handle late payments and delinquent accounts.
Knowledge and experience with legal documentation, ensuring legal compliance and small claims and commercial court basic requirements
High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons or facts, recommending changes in current process
Computer literate, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, Outlook. Skills in Sage Accpac an asset
Effective attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
Excellent teamwork and team building skills
Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
US A/R experience beneficial
Able to work in a high pace and multi-facet organization
