The Opportunity

The Foothills Foundation is seeking a part-time (25 hours per week) high functioning Controller with a passion for the not for profit sector and working with a dynamic Board of Directors. Reporting to the Foundation’s Executive Director and based out of High River, as the Controller you are responsible for overseeing the finance and IT function for the organization including all aspects of financial reporting and financial statement preparation, internal controls and process improvements for three business entities in addition to supervising a team of three full-time employees.

The Candidate

Ideally you have held a similar role with at least five years experience; with at least three years in a supervisory capacity in addition to;
Professional accounting designation preferred or in progress;
Experience using a mid to large sized accounting system;
Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently analyze financial information and communicate results;
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and solve problems in an environment of continuous change;
Strong communication skills with an ability to effectively communicate to both non-financial and financial individuals at varying levels of the organization;
Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
Familiarity administering an organization’s information technology plan and allocating appropriate resources;
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel; and
Hospitality or property management experience is desirable.
