Length of position: Permanent

Duties:
- Responsible for the effective and efficient activities of daily operations and assigned staff
- Ensure that area of responsibility is in operational condition before start-up
- Ensure appropriate levels of raw material are available to the line at start up and during the shift
- Ensure weights are correct at time of changeovers and throughout shift
- Ensure adherence to production quality and specifications
- Accurate completion of documentation
- Ensure that policies and procedures are understood and followed as they relate to HACCP’s, GMP’s, CFIA and Health & Safety regulations
- Meet with Supervisor for daily directions
- Provide feedback and communication to Supervisor as to area performance, product and or personnel issues
- Train new or existing staff on specific job skills as they relate to their specific area and or products
- Provide feedback to staff as to schedule changes, performance to spec, etc.
- Must be able to adjust worker assignments as necessary, improve production efficiency and make suggestions on improving work processes
- Must be physically able to handle all aspects of the position which includes lifting up to 50lbs
- Assemble boxes, packing on-line, skid pack, panning etc.
- Perform routine checks of product throughout the day
- Fill in when necessary to cover off short absences
- Must be willing to work overtime when required and cover for shift supervisor as necessary

Qualifications:
- Displays good leadership skills/people skills
- Positive attitude, embracing change
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic
- Capable of making minor decisions
- Willing to receive direction from the Supervisor
- Be able to write legibly on several documents
- Display good problem solving skills

Requirements:
- 1-3 years of Team Lead experience in a food manufacturing facility
- Strong leadership skills; supervise, co-ordinate and scheduling
- Familiar with GMP, SOP and HACCP
- Good communication skills (written & verbal)
- Should have or be willing to obtain forklift certification
- Must be able to work in cold environment
