Sewing Machine Operator/production work (Former Employee) – Greenville, KY – 18 August 2013
I was nice meeting new people. I was right out of High School heading into the "real" world . I wasn't expecting it to be so hard to adjust. It was great making my own money and being able to buy things I wanted on my own. The co-workers were so nice and helpful . The management was very considerate because I was new and not quit making the production level they like but gave me the chance to improve and I did but the company ended up selling out to a new buyer who laid off the newer employees and I happened to be one of those employees
It was my first job it was nice to have my own money and I learned how the real world worked
it was a production job and I had a hard time meeting the production time at first
arrive on site, inspect, setup, prepare to work. i learned different ways to do my trade. management is helpful, co-workers are easy going, for the most part. being the new guy is hard, applying my knowledge is fun.
