Amazing CEO and Company!
Technician Support Operator (Former Employee), Ogden, UT – March 27, 2013
Pros: great co-workers, healthcare, management
I loved this job! I looked forward to work even on my day off I would go in for overtime. I love the management. They were so understanding and open minded to new innovations. I would say the co-workers were the highlight of the day. We had so in-depth discussions and insight which i apply still today!

Pilot plays favorites and no job security
Co-Manager (Former Employee), Indiana – March 22, 2013
Pros: truck drivers - meeting new people everyday from all around the world.
Cons: low pay, no work life balance, beaten down by upper management, no care for your personal life.
This company stands for some great things. Customer service is a main focus. However, management is selfish. Pay is not good. If salary, your expected to work 50, 60, 70 hours and not get paid anything extra. It is almost impossible to achieve full bonus potential. You will be made to feel that you are never good enough. This job will kill you and spit – more... you out. Trust me, find another job. You will not have a career here and if you do try to, you will not be happy. There is no work life balance. AT ALL! – less

productive and much needed work place
Maintenance (Former Employee), Winnemucca, NV – March 19, 2013
Pros: free drinks on shift after buying the first, employees have a general respect for the public as well as top customer service.
Cons: management is weak and lazy with resovling internal issues, such as allowing customers to be endangered for over 6 six months and acting as nothing was wrong
was not a bad place to work but had many rotations in management making it hard to rely on upper management issue solving from repairs to employee issues. the work was a cake walk just had to keep moving, but I left because a college of 4 years was endangering customers at the propane station and management felt it was not needed to be fixed until osha – more... came into the situation. – less

Typical day at Flying J
Cashier (Former Employee), Rock Hill, SC – March 3, 2013
A typical day at Flying J intels arriving 10 minutes before your shift and counting your register. After counting your register you begin checking out customers. The hardest part of the job is dealing with the attitudes of the customers but the other cashiers made the day better by always keeping a positive attitude. Flying J management was not always – more... so friendly, if they made a mistake they always blamed the cashier. They made it known that they didn't need us because they could hire someone else at anytime. I didn't learn anything while working at Flying J but I did enjoy my time there. – less

Another wonderful experience
Night Manager/Accountant (Former Employee), New Milford, PA – February 28, 2013
Pros: amazing atmosphere to work in
Cons: none that i can remember
I bounced back and forth from night manager to back up accountant daily. The management was a pleasure to work for and with, my co-workers were amazing and willing to do anything to get the job done well. The hardest part of my job I would have to say was, leaving and going home. I loved the atmosphere.

Shift Leader (Former Employee), Richwood, KY – February 27, 2013
Pros: half price fo our lunches.
Cons: short breakes or not at all
I would go into work and find out the shift before me was not done with all prep for the next shift so that would have to be done first.then all my duties.

Production at Pilot
Retail Sales Specialist (Former Employee), Theodore, AL – February 22, 2013
Pros: discount at wendys!!
Cons: confusion
a typical day at work would be very busy enviornment especially since our number one customers are truck drivers and tourist, i learned you had to be very detail-oriented in my position for this company. Management was pretty stabled not very good at communication with employees. The hardest part of the job was the lack of security coverage you basically – more... had to protect yourself and watch your back all day...The most enjoyable was the rush the fast moving the customers even if they were rude or had a great attitude. – less

Relief Manager (Former Employee), Waco, TX – February 19, 2013
Flying J is a great place to work if you enjoy meeting all types of people. The busy, on your feet job can be tiring at times, but getting to interact with all type of people is refreshing. They have job advancement opportunities, and the pay is decent for the Waco area.

Very stressful
Cashier (Former Employee), Spiceland, IN – February 14, 2013
Very stresfull work. I would have a line with 50 people in it, while my manager sat in the back and ate. When asked to come out and help she would say she was busy. Very very stressful due to truckers cussing at me due to long lines.

Average Gas Station Job
Cashier (Current Employee), Millersport, OH – February 14, 2013
I work at the register and the coffee bar. I have learned a lot about how to run a register but also about laws the truckers have to follow. I have learned how to give clear directions to lost travelers. The hardest part of the job is working third shift. I had to change my whole life around the job.

Very productive workplace
Shift Leader/Cashier (Former Employee), Hope Hull, AL – February 7, 2013
Pros: excellent customer service expeirence, making for a fun workplace.
Cons: sometimes angry customers, the occasional system shutdown when system was upgraded.
Excellent customer service enjoyed the overall view and conversations with the various customers mainly the stories the truck drivers tell about their trips. Working with this company I gained more experience in bookkeeping as I worked in the accounting office and excellent customer service skills working with a variety of customers each day.
