The primary job duties of an Estimator - Senior are:

-Execute indirect and conceptual estimates with direction
-Define the intent and use of the estimate based on an understanding of the Proposal and/or Contract Terms
-Coordinate estimate development activites with Project Estimator
-Work with Engineering disciplines to prepare the Estimate Schedule
-Assist in the development of Home Office and Construction Budgets
-Coordinate the estimate plan and development with the project team
-Lead the development of the total project estimate
-Prepare the total Project Estimate Basis
-Prepare the Estimate Risk Analysis and make contingency recommendations
-Arrange and conduct department, discipline, and project estimate reviews
-Participate in the presentation of the estimate to Fluor and client management
-Assist in estimate completion activities and estimate turnover to the project team
-Develop and conduct estimate training programs

Other duties as assigned

Under direction, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Personal safety as well as the safety of co-workers
-Overall implementation and direction of the estimating functions to provide services, procedures, and methods for the timely and accurate response to client, project management, departmental, and company requirements
-On small-sized or multiple projects, act independently or may direct staff of other estimating indiviuals
-On large-sized projects, direct staff of other estimating professionals
-On extremely large-sized projects, report to a senior estimator and direct a portion of the project staff

Required experience

-Minimum of 6+ years experience within an Estimating role
-Knowledge of and previous experience in the Mining/ heavy industry.
-Previous experience within an EPCM is ideal.
-Experience within a civil, structural, mechanical, or electrical role within the industrial construction industry
-BC Industry Trades Certification or
-Engineering or technical background in Mechanical, Oil/Gas, Civil, Electrical (diploma or degree, CET, RET, P.Eng) is preferred
-Understand the detail required for the review of a bid package
-Proven competency in the operation of key office software and productivity tools such as: MS Office,
-Strong interpersonal skills which allow you to develop strong relationships with both internal and external personnel.
-Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
-Excellent Attention to detail
-Customer service, including developing and improving customer relationships internally and externally
-Able to demonstrate management skills within a group
