Duties and Responsibilities

You are the HR point person for one of our clients. With your broad based knowledge in HR, you will be able to guide senior management on a wide variety of HR topics including:
- Recruit, and manage and coordinate on-boarding and orientation of new staff
- Organizational planning
- Manage, maintain and update workforce personnel data
- Manage employee relations, including performance management. You will work with client staff to set annual objectives, coordinate the appraisal process and deal with HR issues as they arise, including performance improvement and disciplinary actions
- Manage, coordinate and deliver development and training
- Manage, deliver and administer the compensation and benefits function
- Develop and implement HR policy
- Manage, deliver and administer employee safety, welfare, health and wellness
- Maintain knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements, and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions. Ensure company compliance
- Manage employee communications
- Assist in the selection, implementation and operation of a Human Resource Information System

Qualifications
- University degree. Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or equivalent is an asset
- Achievement of, or working towards, CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional) designation is considered an asset
- Competence and experience in the duties and responsibilities described above
- Minimum of ten (10) years of related HR generalist experience
- HR experience with call centres, transportation and/or not-for-profit enterprise is an asset
- Ability to structure and analyze data to align HR with business reality
- Excellent negotiation, influencing, counselling, facilitation and conflict resolution skills
- Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Powerpoint and Excel
- Self-starter, team player, organized, able to meet deadlines
- Possess initiative, creativity, integrity and a strong work ethic
- Excellent interpersonal skills, flexible
- Professional, self-confident and able to work independently
- Possess a positive, can-do attitude
- Solid verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English
- Good references
