The Supply Chain Manager will oversee and manage all procurement and supply chain activities. This role is responsible for managing the supply of goods and services, ensuring financial savings and performance improvements are made through strategic approaches to Supply Chain Management and a more integrated approach with internal and external suppliers.
Leads all Supply Chain/Procurement Management activity and fully supports projects/operations
Identify and implement integrated Supply Chain processes that deliver cost effective solutions and will be responsible for the development and execution of best practice sourcing strategies and initiatives
Oversee and manage supplier contract terms and conditions and develops RDQ packages
Research and develop competent suppliers of high quality components by overseeing and participating in the preparation of bids, proposals, or other informational requests. Evaluates requested materials and makes recommendations
Negotiate purchasing agreements resulting in the lowest possible cost of goods purchased
Research and evaluate product areas and makes recommendations for standardization and changes to qualified product lists
Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively to provide quality seamless customer service
Monitor supplier incentive agreements insuring timely contract renewal and calculation, reporting and collection of incentives
Direct development and implementation of procurement systems that measure, track, and analyze supplier and material effectiveness, price, and reliability
Develop and maintain relationships with internal departments as well as all clients, vendors, contactors, managers and employees
Review and analyze purchasing data to determine effectiveness of supplier. Recommend methods of communications, problem resolution, or proposal planning. Contacts suppliers regarding large or recurring material problems and resolves issues.
Liaise with legal counsel for resolution of terms, conditions and/or commercial exceptions on agreements
Review policies and procedures on a routine basis to ensure that they are consistent with requirements as well as satisfying regulatory requirements.
Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Commerce or other related disciplines with professional designation in Supply Chain Management Professional, Certified Professional Purchasers preferred.
Minimum of ten (10) years direct procurement experience in water treatment and or oil and gas service industry
Must have solid understanding of contractual law, contract formation and tendering process
Previous experience leading procurement activities, procurement management of procurement contracts
Excellent negotiating skills; must have the ability to negotiate win-win relationships with supplier community
Deadline oriented with the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure
Solid technical knowledge of equipment and materials being purchased (water treatment, packaged equipments, steel/structural steel/pipe, valves, electrical equipment, wire/cable, pumps, instrumentation equipment, PLC’s, controllers, filters/membranes/media’s, HVAC, etc.) would be preferred
Knowledge of local/regional and national suppliers, supply chain market trends and risks, issues to be addressed
Strong commitment to providing excellent client service
Ability to work well with cross functional teams
Strong verbal and written communication skills
