The Electrical Designer will be primarily responsible for preparing and reviewing the technical drawings for compliance with Engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, regulatory codes and related permitting.
Safety Sensitive Position

Prepare and review the technical drawings for compliance with Engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and regulatory codes and related permitting.
Prepare documented updates review at project meetings
Prepare design packages, system procedures and/or manuals for project as required
Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after construction
Collaborate with electrical engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve electrical system design and operational problems
Write commissioning procedures for electrical installations
Prepare project cost and work-time estimates
Prepare specifications and bills of materials for electrical equipment and systems
Evaluate engineering proposals, shop drawings and design comments for sound electrical practice and conformance with established safety and design criteria, and recommend approval or disapproval
Draw or modify diagrams and write engineering specifications to clarify design details and functional criteria
Conduct inspections for quality control and assurance programs, reporting findings and recommendations
Initiate, review and coordinate modifications to contract specifications and plans throughout the construction process
Review existing electrical engineering criteria to identify necessary revisions, deletions or amendments to outdated material
Plan method and sequence of operations for developing and testing electronic and electrical equipment
Electrical Engineering Certificate or Master Electrician Certificate required
Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in the construction industry within the oil and gas sector
Ability to read and understand P&ID designs, schematics, single line diagrams, connection wiring diagrams and electrical wiring diagrams, field drawings and plans
Correctly measure and calculate values of power, power factor, voltage, current, resistance impedance, inductance, capacitance, phase angles, and per-unit calculations for transformers, CT’s, VT’s, circuit breakers and all types of switches
Results oriented with the ability to effectively manage multiple and competing priorities and timelines
Strong communication, interpersonal and team centric ideals
Exceptional problem solving, time management and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast paced and collaborative work environment
Strong working knowledge of various computer applications including Excel, Word, Project and AutoCAD
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Primarily will be based in an office environment, travel to client work sites/camps may be required from time to time.
Occasional travel to remote sites and offices may be required from time to time.
