Purpose
The Sales Director is responsible for management of assigned customer accounts and for driving, penetrating and owning the customer relationship. You will be responsible for achieving growth targets, preparing and administrating sales and marketing budgets and customer service resolution. You have expertise in developing and managing penetration strategies for key target accounts and you will be able to create and direct your success as an Sales Director in this technical and customer oriented role.

Reports to
VP Sales & Marketing

Responsibilities
Focused on growing & maintaining new and existing accounts, combined with executing business development strategies
Comfortable presenting and selling the value of our products and services that can benefit our customer needs
Participates in client site visits as required
Builds upon internal relationships and develops strong relationships with customers
Effectively interfaces with Operations, Engineering, Project Management and other company functions
Is able to effectively manage time and budget or expense parameters

Qualifications
Education / Experience
Must have more than 7 yrs sales experience in related industrial equipment markets
Must have more than 3 yrs sales management experience in related industrial equipment markets
B.S. Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, or Civil Water Resources), Biology, or Chemistry, OR Bachelors Degree in any discipline OR Engineering Technology diploma (Chemical, Industrial or Water Resources)
4 years experience in the oil & gas services industry or water treatment industry preferred

Skills
Ability and willingness to work in a range of physical environments
Demonstrated sales/people skills and/or aptitude
The candidate must possess solid communication skills (both written and verbal)
Candidate should have a proven sales record or show that he/she has the aptitude to succeed in a technical and relationship driven business
Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
The candidate must be willing to work independently and be a self-starter
The candidate must be willing to work long hours, at times. Flexibility is a must
Ability and willingness to travel
Solid experience in business development or building growth plans is preferred
Strategic or product marketing exposure skills
Customer-centric mindset, able to translate customer issues/needs into profitable business solutions
Able to effectively interface with all levels of internal and external customers
Ability and willingness to take hands on approach in service work with customer

Office

Travel Required
Infrequent travel to client sites and offices outside of Calgary.
