My work Job at Fidelity
Customer Service (Current Employee), Covington, KY – March 9, 2013
Pros: health insurance is day one
Cons: hard to switch shifts
A typical day would be taking calls for the pension and 401k customers and assist in various tasks.
I have learned a tremondus amount of knowledge in the jobs I do.
For the most part, the management team is awesome, and my co-workers are a team, as we work to help each other. The hardest part of my job is having to take death notifications, and the – more... most enjoyable part is when I can help the customer so they don't have to call back. – less

Great place to work. Smart people.
Product Manager- Contractor (Former Employee), Smithfield, RI – March 6, 2013
Pros: positive workplace
Cons: contracts end
Worked as a Product Manager for the Active Trader Pro team. My typical day consisted of working with product designers and web developers to create the next generation of Fidelity's ATP online trading product. In addition, I gathered and categorized customer feedback on the current product to learn what clients liked or disliked about the ATP product. – more... I was responsible for change recommendations based on my experience as a Trader. Management was great and supportive along with a great team who always was willing to help you learn. The most challenging part of my job was the technical methodologies used in building the new product. My background is in Sales but I enjoyed learning new skills at Fidelity. – less

Like being in Jail :(
Financial Representative (Former Employee), Covington, KY – February 27, 2013
Pros: excellent benefits, some nice people
Cons: bad hours, poor work-life balance, low pay
I am a former "Big Green" employee, and it was living Hell. Accent phone, clocking in and out to use the bathroom, get a drink of water, micromanged to death, shift bids, being assigned to weird off-hours shifts, "coaching moments", "food days", "jeans days", etc. Awful, just awful. I would't wish it upon my worst enemy.

Fidelity Investments
Investments Representative (Former Employee), Merrimack, NH – February 19, 2013
In the Merrimack call center from 2000-2002, I took inbound calls from customers and prospects who requested mutual fund materials and account servicing assistance. Fulfilled customer’s explicit needs and frequently made up-sell and cross-sell recommendations. Responsible for retirement account asset retention within Fidelity Investments’ 401(k) division. – more... Worked with 401(k) investors to create and implement asset allocation strategies. In the San Diego branch, I collaborated with prospects and existing clients in order to deepen and expand retail and institutional investor relationships. Developed investment plans with investors after reviewing and discussing their portfolios. Conducted meetings and made recommendations to help investors achieve results based on their specific goals. – less

Good job with great benefits
Registered Representative (Former Employee), Cary, NC – February 12, 2013
Pros: benefits
Cons: salary, work life balance, flexibility, opportunity for advancement
Job can be stressful and mundane. Great benefits and perks. Great training opportunities. Above average than the regular call center work, but still customer service when it boils down to it. Long hours sitting down. Decent pay for the job, could be better.

productive company
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee), Durham, NC – February 8, 2013
Pros: sometimes we would have a catered lunch
Cons: job security
Fidelity Investments was a good company to work for overall. But, management was terrible. I felt that they really didnt care about us. They just wanted to make sure that the job was done. We had meetings every other week on job security. So, you didnt know the one day you went to work was it going to be our last day there.
