fun job where you can be yourself
Retail Consultant (Former Employee), Tampa, FLAugust 21, 2014
Pros: fun place overall, customers are cool, busy location
Cons: pay, cowokers
FedEx is a good company to work for, pay is not great but at least they don't lay you off. You start your day getting your registers and greeting customer as they walk in the door, help them with what they need. Management should care a little more about the employees and stop avoiding customers which they usually do in many occasions. As for coworkers – more... they need to smile more and be more professional which most aren't. Hardest part of the jobs is dealing with co workers, the most enjoyable part is helping costumers, especially the ones in great need. – less

Senior Professional Recruiter (Current Employee), Dallas, TXAugust 20, 2014
Pros: free parking, free gym memberships, flexible hours, remote office
Cons: healthcare
A typical day for me is being able to make the hiring process as seamless as possible to the business. While consulting and informing the business and my management team of any obstacles, and we work together to come up with a plan that will be within the company guidelines as well as be beneficial to the business. My word is my bond and when I say – more... I will get something done for them, they are confident that I will get it done. The hardest part of the job for me is making sure to take time out for myself because I truly enjoy what I do. I love making each and every offer to each candidate. – less

Production Supervisor (Coordinator) (Former Employee), Coral Gables, FLAugust 8, 2014
The job is pretty straight forward. Take in orders, produce orders and help customers along the way. It does get hectic during the holiday season due to shipping but other than that its a breeze.

Fast paced work environment.
Customer Consultant (Current Employee), San Ramon, CAAugust 6, 2014
The work place is typically fast paced and our customers usually have critical needs for documents, or files, that need to be held in extensive care and mostly are time sensitive. Customers will typically give us their printing needs that we will have to analize and visualize a final product for them and we will figue out a plan get them what they need – more... a resonable price, but to still bring the company as much revenue as possible. I have learned about time management, training team members, production managing and running, self-managing, using many different buisness softwares and much more about business printing, production, and managing. Co-workers are, for the most part, easy to work with and very helpful when put in difficult situations. – less

Good place to work at but a lot of improvements needed.
LPC (Current Employee), WisconsinJuly 29, 2014
Pros: helping customers and designing things for customers.
Cons: short staffing and bad upper management
Mentally straining work with a lot of things to learn and remember in an ever changing environment. The management was very spotty there were some great managers and some really bad ones but all of the management past the store level was bad and very out of touch with their employees and what happens in their stores. The team members are great to work – more... with and good people. The hardest part of the job was working with constant short staffs and being asked to do more and more with little to no recognition or chance to move up in the company. The best part about the job was the team members that are employed there almost all of them make the job experience as good as it is and if the company steps up and makes some changes this would be a great place of employment. – less

Consultant (Current Employee), LouisvilleJuly 23, 2014
Pros: great benefits, varied duties.
Cons: pay does not reflect the work that is done/required to be effective.
At FedEx Office the duties are many and varied. From completing small printing jobs to helping a law firm organize all of their research before a case, you never know exactly what you will be doing on a day to day basis. The relationships with clients/small business owners is of paramount importance and displaying a calm, knowledgeable, problem solving, – more... upbeat attitude is required to be effective. – less

Solid company with worldwide brand recognition
Senior Center Manager (Current Employee), Los Angeles CAJuly 21, 2014
Pros: stable, well known, constantly changing and innovating
Cons: turn-over, training is less than stellar, corporate support lacks at times.
Typical day of work involves overseeing all aspects of center operations. Daily financial controls. Managing and overseeing staff. Ensuring excellent customer service.

Ive learned a tremendous amount of skills in costs controls, HR and employee development, and dealing with varying levels of growth capabilities based on individual needs and wants.

Difficulties – more... includes maintaining team cohesiveness at all times. Not being able to help every customer every time, no matter what efforts are taken. More than average turn-over.

Most rewarding is helping customers realize a project from vision to completion. Being able to get customer's most important documents around the world in a matter of just a few days at most. – less
