The Construction Supervisor/Site Superintendent is responsible for all work on site (includes coordinating team members, coordinating subcontractors, purchasing/coordinating the purchase of required materials and client relations) ensuring that the physical work is completed within budget, on schedule, and in accordance with the contract documents. He/she should be committed to minimizing the cost of the project through the efficient use of field forces and materials.

To effectively complete the responsibilities of this position, the candidate must be able to complete the following:

*Communicate with clients about renovation via phone and/or email:
Ÿ*Discuss any questions/concerns with client about their renovation, provide feedback
Ÿ*Discuss change orders as required
Ÿ*Meet with clients as required
Ÿ*When change orders are approved by client, schedule work to begin
*Notify office of payments that will be collected each day/week
Ÿ*Pick up cheques and drop them off to office
Ÿ*Resolve conflict
*Responsible for final walkthrough of job with owner and client
*Responsible for completing deficiency list
*Communicate with Farnum team members
Ÿ *Lead/instruct Farnum employees, delegate responsibilities, divide tools each day
Ÿ *Track, review, and sign time sheets of employees
Ÿ *Schedule labourers
*Track time sheets of labourers
Ÿ *Evaluate employees and provide feedback to Managing Director, Sean Farnum
*Ensure team members are dressed appropriately
Ÿ *Ensure team members are coming to work prepared (with tools)
*Resolve conflict between employees
Ÿ *Responsible for safety of team members
*Esure hard hats, steel toe boots, safety harness are worn as required

*Communicate with subcontractors
Ÿ *Organize meetings and get quotes
Ÿ *Schedule and coordinate job subcontractors
Ÿ *Schedule deliveries
Ÿ *Resolve conflict
*Meet with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, as required
*Order/purchase material for job site
*Onsite decision making
*Time management – deciding who leaves the job site, who picks up material, who assists the supervisor
*Dump runs
*Job Schedules
Ÿ *Responsible for opening and closing job sites each day
*Ensure doors are locked at the end of each day
Ÿ *Work to ensure schedules are kept and jobs are being completed on time
Ÿ *Update owner if timelines and schedules are not going to be met
*Track costs of job and inform owner if job is going to go over budget (Corecon Software – training will be provided)
Ÿ *Ensure you are familiar with scope of work
*Responsible for meeting with city inspectors
*As required, assist the owner in meetings with clients
*Responsible for the maintenance of provided company vehicle
Ÿ *Inform owner if major repairs are required
*Responsible for the maintenance of tools & equipment
*Inform owner if major purchases are required
*Must represent Farnum Construction in a professional and responsible manner at all times



The Construction Supervisor/Site Superintendent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:

*5 or more years of residential/commercial construction experience with a proven track of projects being delivered on time and on budget
*Effectiveness in the areas of construction safety and productivity, contractor management, construction planning and execution, project organization and construction project controls
*Possess strong communication, leadership, integration, problem-solving, interfacing, scheduling, project management and interpersonal skills
*Must be able to act professionally and responsibly with clients, employees, subcontractors and Farnum management

*Professional conduct with both internal and external customers
*Demonstrate a commitment to all facets of the role; working towards the achievement of the company goals and objectives
*Awareness of policies and procedures and fellow team members within the organization
*Must maintain strict project/organizational confidentiality at all times
