Cashier (Current Employee) – Whitby, ON – 21 March 2018
good environment to work in, staff are treated well and most management are like family. Been working here for almost 4 years now and I continue to come back. Good work hours- very flexible and enable those with more than one job to still get sufficient hours.
Coworkers were amazing, management was absolutely horrible.
Customer Service Representative (CSR) (Former Employee) – Whitby, ON – 22 February 2018
I was constantly battling with management to work my schedule around my school schedule as I had a very busy semester that required most of my time. Despite telling my manager this on several occasions, I was constantly working from the time I finished school to 10 at night, leaving me no time to do homework or study. The only thing that kept me there for just over a year was the more than pleasant coworkers that I can call friends to this day.
Coworkers are nice
Long hours, horrible management, poor pay, poor discount
Cashier (Current Employee) – Pickering, ON – 16 January 2018
The majority of the management is good at the location I work at. However, they reduce hours without any notice, and there have been weeks that we did not have any shifts and some weeks with just one shift.
Cook (Former Employee) – Whitby, ON – 16 January 2018
The managers would openly tell employees that if they aren't happy they can leave and are easily replaceable. they also lied on multiple documents including a wsib form to save themselves. very unprofessional workers. people get laid off for no reason.

Always something to do while working at Farm Boy, whether its stocking shelves or preparing food for customers your hands will always be busy. Promotions within the stores rarely happen but there is plenty of opportunities between locations.
Department Manager (Former Employee) – Ottawa, ON – 6 November 2017
-Long days (minimum 44 scheduled hours a week) -no shift flexibility - They say managers manage their own time but if you have to work extra hours on any given days you don't get them back. - no recognition for work/time put in. 'What have you done for me lately' attitude -No consistency in discipline or expectations of work ethic from person to person. -For a company that wants to hire people with integrity they don't display much themselves.
Grocery Stocker (Former Employee) – Whitby, ON – 5 October 2017
It was a really great place to work, I loved it and miss it sometimes, management is great for the most part and it's a great company to work for. Also it's a great place to work if you're a bit of a health nut.
service representative (Former Employee) – Ottawa, ON – 6 August 2017
Working at Farm Boy was an overall a very good first job experience. This job showed me how to deal with customers, how to manage a cash register and everything in between. The customers were always very nice and patient and my co-workers were always there whenever I had any questions.
