We are looking for you to join us in a unique career building opportunity as an Instrumentation Professional who will be part of a team working with leading edge technology at one of the world’s largest oil sands facilities.

We are currently seeking Instrumentation Technicians whom are Alberta Certified Journeyman or hold an Inter-provincial Red Seal, for our Kearl project in Northern Alberta.

The opportunity exists to gain levels of advanced training, expertise and experience in areas of Distributed Control Systems, advanced process control strategies, nuclear measurement devices, sophisticated safety systems, state of the art control and metering devices and up to date maintenance planning and job execution.

  • Install, calibrate, test, troubleshoot and maintain instrumentation equipment on new or existing plant equipment
  • Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation and control equipment
  • Consult manufacturers' manuals to determine test and maintenance procedures
  • Use pneumatic, electrical and electronic testing devices to inspect and test instrument and system operation, and diagnose faults
  • Consult with and advise process operators
  • Implement loss management practices
  • Repair, maintain and adjust system components or remove and replace defective parts
  • Do risk assessments
  • Calibrate and maintain components and instruments according to manufacturers' specifications
  • Work with engineers on basic design
  • Install and maintain instruments on new or existing plant equipment and processes
  • Interpret and use appropriate CSA, ISA and API installation standards and practices
