FOTENN is seeking a Manager, Finance and Operations to join the leadership team in the Ottawa office as of January 6, 2014.

The successful candidate will be self motivated, enthusiastic, innovative and looking to play a leadership role in a rapidly growing organization. The Manager, Finance and Operations will head the firm’s administrative team and be an active member of the executive management team. This role requires the ability to operate across a broad spectrum of responsibilities including hands-on financial and administrative work; issues involving information technology, human resources, marketing and other operational processes while improving administrative efficiencies.
Responsibilities:

Corporate
 Prepare and distribute agenda and minutes of executive team meetings;
 Coordinate annual strategic planning sessions;
 Provide administrative support to the firm’s marketing activities;
 Manage client events;
 Manage company and personnel security clearances.

Financial
 Prepare and monitor annual corporate budgets;
 Review and monitor monthly expenditures & revenues;
 Provide regular financial reports to executive management team;
 Review and monitor project/file budgets and provide project management reports to
executive management team;
 Manage collection of receivables;
 Liaise with firm’s accountants and financial institution representatives.

Human Resources
 Manage administrative staff (3);
 Manage human resource policies, approach & issues;
 Review and update Health and Safety policies and procedures;
 Coordinate hiring process for all professional and administrative staff;
 Coordinate the administration of professional development activities of all staff;
 Review and update salary levels for all staff in executive management team;
 Coordinate FOTENN’s social events.

Information Technology
 Strategic and overall management of IS systems.

Property Management
 Manage several properties.
Qualifications:
 A university degree in Business Administration/Commerce or a related discipline;
 A minimum of 10 years professional management experience, ideally within a professional services environment;
 Proven skills in finance, human resources, problem solving, leadership and team building;
 The ability to work at a strategic level and also manage the details;
 Excellent English written and oral communication and reporting skills.
 Proficiency in MS Office, QuickBooks Pro and a basic understanding of IT networks;
 A valid driver’s license.
