Position Summary
To perform design, drafting and review of electrical and automation systems. This is in support of technical projects that impact multiple departments, systems, or work-flows with moderate to high risk and complexity or multiple projects simultaneously with lesser risk and complexity. Will require review of documentation and be able to stamp/approve designs.

Role & Responsibilities
Design, review and troubleshoot electrical systems for equipment, facilities, components and infrastructure of water and wastewater treatment facilities
Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
Assist Project Management in coordination of manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements
Perform detailed calculations and evaluations in establishing manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications
Inspect completed installations and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards
Prepare specifications and bill of material for purchase of materials and equipment.
Supervise and train project team members as necessary
Prepare and study technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, and topographical maps to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements
Troubleshooting capabilities so that one can determine nature and extent of problem, and recommend remedial measures
Plan layout of electric systems and automation
Develop budgets, estimating labor, material, and construction costs
Compile data and write reports regarding existing and potential engineering studies and projects

Minimum of 5 Years relevant work experience
Electrical Engineering degree
Registered to practice in the province of Alberta

Extensive knowledge in electrical and automation design and implementation
Knowledge of Water treatment and associated mechanical processes
Background includes experience with commissioning activities
Computers and Electronics -- Knowledge of electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming
English Language -- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
Design -- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, models and calculations
