Northern Manitoba Remote Camp seeks a trained individual to work in their kitchen. The successful candidate is responsible for preparing a wide variety of foods, develops meal plans, inventory and grocery orders, provides direction to kitchen staff, and ensures the highest quality of food and baking possible.
Prepare and cook full course meals (Breakfast and Dinner). Bakery good and desserts, stocks, soups, sauces. Cold kitchen (salads, appetizers, sandwiches). Prepare and cook individual dishes and foods, Plan menus, Ensure quality of food and determine size of food proportions, Work with minimal supervision, Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, Estimate food requirements and costs, Inspect kitchens and food service areas, Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food, Order supplies and equipment, Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment, Work with specialized cooking equipment (deep fryer, etc.), Clean kitchen and work areas, Wash dishes, Manage kitchen operations
- Red Seal Certification or completion of college or other program in cooking preferred.
- Advance Food Safe Certification, WHMIS and First Aid Certification preferred.
- 3+ year’s food service experience as a Head or Assistant Cook
- Preference give to candidates with prior work experience in a remote environment and Manitoba residency.
Salary - D.O.Q.
Other Information - Work rotation to be determined. Wage includes overtime and vacation pay. Paid transportation. Meals, Laundry, Internet, Satellite TV, Private Room.
