We're looking for an ambitious, talented artist with strong 2D and 3D skills and previous game industry experience to join our team.

Description

This is a 3D art role focused on creating art content for all aspects of the game:

- Environment modeling
- Props modeling, rigging and animation
- Character modeling, rigging and animation
- Lighting
- Concept art
- FX creation
- Front End and HUD art
- Marketing assets

Responsabilities

- Follow the established style set forward by the provided concept art and maintain visual consistency
- Create and rig characters
- Model and texture 3D environments
- Develop textures for in-game environments including colour maps, normal maps, spec maps, height maps, AO maps, detail maps and transparency maps
- Work with the graphics programmers to support the development of new shaders and looks
- Create simple as well as complex shaders
- UV map textures to polygonal surfaces
- Develop the lighting scheme, color-palette, post-processing-FX, and general visual mood that turns unlit 3-D environment models into awesome looking and visually compelling 3D game environments
- Create flip book or animated textures for FX
- Create unique geo to support FX
- Optimize the visual look and run-time performance of the environments
- Develop artwork promotional purposes
- Demonstrate a broad range of excellent drawing abilities
- Collaborate with art lead and game designers to create levels
- Collaborates effectively with art lead during review sessions which results in the finest artistic look possible
- Collaborate with the tools team in order to communicate needs, generate tool requests and initiate support designed to facilitate the artists' workflow
- Meets project deadlines/milestones, as set by project leads
- Consistently exercises sound judgment in all areas of expertise

Requirements and Skills

- Fine art skills, drawing and painting, lighting and colour
- Ability to sculpt and paint highly detailed 3D models and 2D images
- Work must clearly demonstrate exceptional ability in the areas of artistic, stylistic and versatility
- Proven industry experience in Film or Games generating final picture
- Excellent eye for filling in missing detail from concept art, and extracting key features from reference
- Obsessive attention to detail
- A strong understanding of UV layout and texturing for games
- Proficient at texturing surface details and material effects on a wide variety of subject matter
- Experience with shader networks
- Ability to animate humans, animals and objects at an expert level within a defined style
- Ability to create believable rigs for imagined characters
- Ability to troubleshoot and adapt to new technologies/software quickly
- Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Thorough understanding of direct/indirect light, luminance/exposure and color-theory
- Experience with generating light-maps, pre-lighting or baked lighting is desired
- Expertise in Photoshop
- Expertise in 3D Studio Max
- Expertise in ZBrush and crazybump
- Experience in using game engine/level editors
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be receptive to art direction and perform well within a team setting
- Must be responsive to schedules and work well under pressure
- BFA or equivalent game development experience
