Transportation Coordinator (Former Employee), Baton Rouge, LA – August 13, 2013
Pros: compensation, off on the weekends
Cons: was laid off
Receiving, processing and distributing Exxonmobil products. Learned how to process export orders and line up carriers for pick up. Great work environment to be a part of. I would say the toughest part of the job was when we had inventory (hugh warehouse)!
Forklift Operator/Warehouse (Former Employee), Jackson, MO – August 11, 2013
Pros: on-site cafeteria
Cons: very limited accident policy
Fast paced work environment making the day pass so quick that I had a hard time believing that 12 hours had passed so quickly. I learned about the receiving process for a production facility had a lot more to it than I expected. Co-workers were very helpful as well as the supervisors. If you had any questions or concerns there was always someone to – more... help you out. Hardest thing to learn was learning to work around heavy traffic or small spaces.
Want to learn logistics and make it, then start with Exel
Operations Specialist (Former Employee), Houston, TX – July 30, 2013
Pros: coworkers and insurance
Cons: bad management, very ineffective u have to be in their click
Just like I said want to learn logistics start with Exel n quit to another company bcos it gets better. I learned SAP n I can say I never regret that. Just like every reviewer said management is horrible they take everyone to be stupid or dumb. Coworkers do their thing because they do not care. They only thing i liked was the Health INsurance. This – more... Slavery in modern day you work like a horse sometimes 12 hours and 24/7 make all that money bcos they do not pay well n rubbish you at the end of yr HR review that you get paid better than other places bcos of cost of insurance you get whilst there. A GM came over there tried to improve the culture. He was there very early and familiarized with co workers and would leave late but had to quit cos this place is full of it. I wonder if HP knows why issues happen to its shipments and many mishaps. Does DHL know what goes on???? Will never reccomend Exel to anyone. – less
Operations Supervisor (Former Employee), Manteno, IL – July 20, 2013
Pros: working with an excellent plant manager
Cons: working with the operations manager and hours
Typical day - go in at 9 pm and not leave until 12 pm Learned to work hard for yourself and not for my poor manager My manager didn't know how to lead or what to do with the job - he like to make paper footballs and shoot them across his desk. Coworkers were temps and unreliable at beast Hardest part of the job was the hours and the operations manager I – more... enjoyed working with the plant manager when the ops manager was gone – less
Storage company specializing in distributing for Exxon Mobil
Transportation CSR (Former Employee), Baton Rouge, LA – July 18, 2013
Received orders for Exxon's product and had to book carriers for pick up and delivery. Scheduling, routing, processing orders Management was good, easy to talk to and always willing to help. I would have to say inventory was the hardest part of the job, but we was paid well. Enjoyed pretty much everything about my job. Unfortunately, Exel lost the contract – more... with Exxon and I was laid off. – less
Data Entry and Module Operator (Current Employee), Indianapolis, IN – July 17, 2013
Pros: pay, steady work
Cons: short breaks, extreme work conditions, expensive insurance rates
This place is a job and it is ran as such. It is very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. The only pro about this place is the pay and hours, if you are employed through the company and not the temp service. Working here has helped me out financially but now I am in school furthering my education so I can gain a career. There is no room for – more... advancement and the management is horrible. If you really need a job then try your luck but if you have skills look else where. – less
Logistics Analyst (Former Employee), Houston, TX – July 12, 2013
Pros: great account
Cons: poor systems
Areas of focus: solution analysis, quality, continuous improvement, system and operations processes, transportation, network services and customer service. Oracle (WMS, Transportation Intelligence, and SC3 6.0).
Inventory Control Clerk (Former Employee), Groveport Ohio, Columbus Ohio – July 11, 2013
Pros: some of the people were great, just not the upper management/supervisors, leads, etc..
Cons: don't have a funeral to go to! or get ill!
This company is a joke! I had a stroke at work and I lost my job because of it. As well as, I had to take off 2 days for a funeral and I got a call saying they didn't need me anymore. I dedicated myself to this company and they let me down in a huge way that cost me alot and my children! I wouldn't reccommend this job to anyone!
