Area Supervisor (Current Employee) – Regina, SK – 13 January 2017
Not a bad place to work. Shift schedule is challenging and extremely difficult to advance or move to a position that doesn't require shift work. The wage and benefits are hard to find anywhere else, which gets you sucked in.

Production Worker (Former Employee) – Red Deer, AB – 9 March 2017
I went in for an interview January 2017 was told I'd hear back in a few weeks on whether I actually got the job. Ok no big deal. I got a call from their recruitment person and was told I would have to undergo a physical and drug test and that would be in one week. I was looking for other work during all this time so again not that big of a deal. I went to surehire for my appointment on that day and everything went well. After that I never heard from evraz again. I passed the drug test and physical so I'm not sure what went wrong. Numerous calls/messages from myself to their HR were left unanswered so after a day or two I gave up. Never heard from them again. I ended up finding something better anyway. Complete waste of time. Seemed like a pretty cold environment when I went for the actual interview and the shifts weren't great either so I'm pretty sure I dodged a bullet on this one.
achieving good results, coworkers are great, good attitude we're helping each other. Safety is our number one priority.
Production Operator (Current Employee) – Calgary, AB – 22 October 2015
Safety is priority, always good attitude, self respect and self esteem. Recognizing the hazards of the environment, hard working people around me from the management to the floor. The hardest part is to stay awake and alert during night shift, the most enjoyable part of the job is when running smooth, no downtime, time flies so quickly.
free PPE supllies (work steeltoe boots, work gloves, coverall, safety glasses etc.
Millwright (Current Employee) – Calgary, AB – 13 May 2015
typical day is troubleshooting and quick repair of production line (reducing the downtime as much as possible). I have learned very much from jobs, like troubleshooting skills, interpersonal skills,mind-opening skill, maintenance organizing skill. Management is how to make a team working together time, cost efficiently, productively, safely.make everybody willing to dedicate their best to company and wants to stay.not to make a hero or make everybody upset. co-worker is around everybody,we can not avoid.you can make good relationship with some people.Learning how to get along with people is an interpersonal skill. That is part of our job.Good interpersonal skill will help us a lot, make our working and life easy. The hardest job is some urgent irregular critical job which we have to get it done as soon as possible or some complicated(confusing) job which we have no clue. The most enjoyable part of job is we solve a tough problem which come up again and again indefinitely.
regina (Former Employee) – Analyst – 13 August 2014
They don't appreciate technical work. Management push employees to do their jobs, especially in maintenance. They don't really care about risk and reliability. What about technical expertise and engineering? They don't really care about them. They say “there is no time, just does that quickly”. Safety mostly is a show. If there is even an important safety issue but it's not visible, then it is very hard to attract management support for modification or change. They do not care for employees or their safety. Their managerial style is scary. You can see fear in face or behavior of most of employees. They don't like to share information about their decisions or even present situation. They make lots decisions in short time without explanation, technical or non technical.
Lead Hand (Former Employee) – Calgary, AB – 16 January 2016
Evraz is a fast paced environment. When the bell rang everybody goes to their respected station and start working their assigned job. Being a lead hand the hardest part of the job for me is when machine breaks and the production stop.
