Pros: professionally run organisation
Cons: difficult to advance into other roles
I am currently still employed by ECC and really love the job. The Team is excellent I work with, and they are some of the best work colleagues I have been involved with. The training from day one is spot on, and in a classroom style environment, you can really focus on learning new skills so you are ready when it comes to doing your job. The whole onboarding process was a little frustrating as I was initially employed through Working for Essex, Capita Recruitment on a temp to perm contract. They are not so great with the whole onboarding process, which I am very proficient with having previously working in the background screening business as a manager. The whole onboarding process took 9 months, and I pretty much did not hear anything about going full time until at least 6 months which was frustrating. There are not a lot of opportunities to progress in the department I work for, so to progress I am having to search for roles in other departments, completely unrelated to what I am doing, so it is difficult to land those jobs unless you have the experience. That is the only negative thing for me though, and I love my job apart from the wages could be more for what I do. Having said that I do feel like I am a valued member of the team.
