Open Position: Global Purchasing Agent
Reports to: VP Finance
Job Location: GTA West
Job Type: Full-time (Monday thru Friday) 8:30 – 5:00pm
Compensation: Negotiable salary; full compensation package

Duties and Responsibilities

-Check emails regularly and respond to suppliers and internal requests immediately
-Maintain open communication with suppliers regarding orders, opportunities and deliveries
-Sourcing new opportunities for Company that meet specific directions given from various departments; compare and negotiate margins to current purchases and prices
-Answer all inquiries from sales, warehouse and parts departments, custom brokers and freight forwarder regarding purchases
-Organize the logistics of pick-up and delivery of goods
-Follow up with suppliers of inventory in a timely manner and check on the status of backorder shipment
-Maintain audit of supplier report regularly to ensure replenishment of inventory
-Update minimum/ maximum inventory levels in SAP Business 1
-Coordinate with foreign and local ocean freight companies to ensure timely delivery of products
-Ensure vendors ship product and follow-up to ensure products will arrive in a timely manner; communicate estimated arrival time to all affected parties, and update in SAP and on in-house reports


-At minimum, a University Degree or College Diploma in business, purchasing, supply chain management or other related discipline
-Accredited with the PMAC an asset


-Above average communication delivered in a clear, concise and effective manner with all levels of the organization
-Possess a high degree of professionalism, with high degree of urgency and dedicated customer service abilities
-Communicate with supplier regarding defective product
-Exceptional communication skills to provide accurate and timely information to all affected parties regarding inventory
-Highly attentive to detail with strong clerical and organizational skill
-Ability to create, read and analyze detailed invoices and spreadsheets
-Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Office

Working Conditions

-Exposed to artificial light from monitors, artificial indoor lights
-Office environment with carpet, controlled climate and individual work spaces
-Office is high volume and often has distractions
-Low to Moderate noise level; phone ringing, speaking in a normal volume
