prepare to be on your own
application developer (Former Employee), Montreal, QCApril 10, 2014
I got hired at Epicor as a permanent employee, I was told how secure it is to be at Epicor (job security), less than a year after I started, the CEO got fired, then a big management shake up happened, and around one year after I was employed, a lay off took place and I and many others lost our jobs for no apparent reason. If they told you it is a permanent – more... position, even if you did a great job, it does not secure your job there. Many seniors lost their jobs for no reason. – less

Cold Calling, redundant tasks
Business Development Representative (Former Employee), Minneapolis, MNDecember 21, 2013
Pros: great people
Cons: pay, job responsibilities
Epicor is a fun environment with great people at the company. The work however is quite redundant everyday. You call people none stop every 90 days so this can lead to angry people on the other line who feel pestered by Epicor employee's.

Neutral place to work
Financial Service Representative (Former Employee), Austin, TXOctober 14, 2013
Pros: flexible work hours
Cons: poor management and lack of training.
This can be a nice place to work but it can be non enjoyable at times. The workplace is a laid back environment that has alot of activities throught the week. However, at times that are special projects that require training to get the job done right which lack no training to complete. Management has no idea in how to run the department and create a – more... business environment. – less

The glass ceiling
Senior Software Support Representative (Current Employee), Yardley, PAJune 10, 2013
With little to no room for growth and an oppressive work environment, Epicor (formerly Activant, formerly Prophet 21), can't be bothered to look at the individual departments within support to fix the major issues there.

Since all managerial positions within the department are taken and reps are given no direction or options to leave, you are stuck – more... doing the same job, years on end, for a team of managers who have been doing the same job for a long time as well...who not only appear burnt out, but frustrated with their own positions.

Turnover for a once strong Prophet 21 company employee base has increased drastically since being purchased by Activant and then Epicor, and it's not entirely due to the idea of a "large company mismanaging a smaller one."

It's time for a house cleaning, and as all of the talent and experience leaves, perhaps the company will understand that this is due to poor management. – less
