-Strategically perform comprehensive searches relating to patentability (novelty), validity, freedom-to-operate and infringement on various available sources
-Communicate effectively with internal customers in determining the scope of searches and prepare informative reports that clarify and summarize the search results
-Perform qualitative analysis of patents and patent portfolios from a legal, technical and business perspective
-Deliver timely, value-added patent search reports, based on in-house established protocols
-Conducting IP due diligence reviews
-Conduct long-term patent landscape studies to identify trends in a technology field, deliver competitive intelligence and identify potential research and licensing opportunities
-Maintain proficiency with commercial patent databases and other proprietary databases that disclose technical publications.
-Support Enerkem Innovation and R&D groups in the development and redaction of new patents.
-Manage, with Enerkem IP attorneys and consultant, the patent filling process, including maintaining Enerkem’s patents portfolio in good standing throughout the world.
Bachelor/Masters Degree/ Ph.D in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
Minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in industry
-In-depth knowledge of technical literature in the area of subject matter expertise
-A good understanding and interest in patents
-Effective analytical, presentation, oral and written communication skills
-Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
-Strong organizational and time management skills
-Flexible with excellent attention to detail
-Team spirit, sense of responsibility, autonomy and facility to adapt.
-Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office.
-Strong focus on safety.
-On-call duties as required.
-Experience with a computer based maintenance programs
