Administrative Manager is all about creating high school drama, gossiping, and setting up the team & employees for failure. They are completely unprofessional and lack leadership and management skill. There is no proper feedback for employees working under them , no communication, no professional development plans, and above all NO RESPECT. They thrive on insulting others and creating rumors to stay on top of things. And of course the top management listens to them as they have been there long enough to control staff with fear and by keeping them in the dark.
The only positive thing about working there was that colleagues were supportive and respectful, also the company have good and generous benefit package.
Poor and unprofessional Management, No Respect, Toxic Environment filled with envy, jealousy, and rumors.
Jr. Project coordinator (Current Employee) – Toronto, ON – 20 April 2017

Project Coordinator Co-op Student (Former Employee) – St. John's, NL – 10 April 2017
EllisDon provides a very open work environment. They encourage you to take on more responsibility and to challenge yourself. Working on site comes with early hours but site positions are also very engaging.
Nice people, challenging work. Nice team atmosphere
Labourer Lead Hand (Former Employee) – Calgary ab – 24 January 2017
Enjoyed working with them a lot. Felt like part of the team and mostly everyone takes pride in their work and themselves. Interesting learning opportunities. They are moving away from producing the work themselves, straight management only.

Carpenter (Former Employee) – Edmonton, AB – 14 August 2016
Worked as a carpenter, great company, great management, good crew, I enjoyed working for them for a year, would go back on a seconds notice. Would recommend to anyone looking for laborer or carpenter work.
Good management, good hours.
(not up to the company) Crew can be difficult sometimes
Coordinator (Former Employee) – Calgary, AB – 18 May 2016
Very poor management of time and people. They treat you like gold but the backstabbing that goes on is ridiculous. It's a big boys club and if you don't belong you won't work here long.
Money was low and the benifits ok but there are better jobs. I found one only after a week when they laid me off for no reason. Double the money and better work environment. Still here today and I love it.
Framer/Carpenter (Former Employee) – London, ON – 28 March 2016
Typical day working was framing solar tables together to have glass solar panels sit on..Biggest part i learned is that the tables have to be perfectly square..off by and 8th of an inch the galss will not go on properly..Management was Great always there to help in any way possible. My co-workers were the best part of the Job..Great guys to work with and are friends for life..Hardest part of the job at first was the inconsistent go from here to there..couldnt stay and finish one row until near the end when it was all figured out..Learning curve it was for Ellis Don but we got there..Enjoyable part of the Job was working outdoors and working with great people and having a great time...
Project Coordinator (Former Employee) – Oakville, ON – 8 November 2015
EllisDon was my first work experience during my undergraduate co-op (Internship) program. The management and the work life at EllisDon was excellent. During this time, I had the opportunity of working on multiple projects at once, which was challenging and rewarding.

Estimator (Former Employee) – Mississauga, ON – 7 October 2015
Management has private offices and workers have open cubical. So, you will be monitoring daily for your work load and your accomplishments. You will feel very insecure and any time you can be fired without any a notice. So you have watch your back everyday.
Superintendent (Former Employee) – Edmonton – 4 January 2015
The OM is a complete joke. All other reviews about upper management and back stabbing are correct. This companies managers back east should review their Operations Manager - it is seriously affecting their ability to make a profit due to his lack of knowledge in the industry and his lack of people skills.
The Edmonton office is known as being cancerous. Low morale, with a very weak skill set in management (Superintendents and Project Managers).
The turn over of staff is pretty ridiculous.
There is a rumour they haven't made profit in the last 7 years and its not surprising.
If you are considering a career at EllisDon, choose any region beside the Edmonton office.
