A fun and productive working environment dealing with customers
Senior Sales Associate (Former Employee), Pitt Meadows, BCAugust 11, 2014
Pros: helpful and responsible manager
Cons: minimal lunch break
I have been working in 7-Eleven since July 2010 when I migrated to Vancouver from Singapore with my family. My job duties are multi-tasking which include cash handling, inventory management, ordering inventory, stocking, cleaning, etc.
My manager is flexible with the hours as I am schooling at the same time. The co-workers are friendly, helpful and – more... cooperative.
The hardest part of the job is dealing with customers because every individual is different and have special needs.
The most enjoyable part of the job is having to greet every customers and make them feel welcomed.
This job has allowed me to gain customer service experience and learnt the different daily operations of the business. – less

decent place to work
Pastry Cook (Current Employee), Pittsburgh, PAAugust 25, 2014
Pros: free staff meal
Cons: no break, do not treat employees equally
typical day: prepare items for service, plate items during service as orders come in. clean entire kitchen, take note of what is needed for replenishment, order items when necessary.
I learned: how to work in a fast paced environment
Management: does not treat employees equally, no respect for employees
co-workers: like any workplace, some are great, – more... others you have to learn to deal with them and make the most of it.
hardest part: management
most enjoyable part: fun when it gets busy and you are in the zone, as well as making items from scratch – less

The Worst
Cashier (Former Employee), Saginaw, MiJuly 4, 2014
Pros: free fountain drinks
Cons: no breaks, mean customers all day
This was the worst job I've ever had. There are no breaks, so you have to do everything in between serving customers including cleaning and eating lunch. I feel there was too much work to do there to just be making $8/hr.

Fast-paced store with lots of friendly people.
Store Clerk (Former Employee), Newport News, VAJuly 19, 2013
Pros: the pros of the job was the employee discounts.
Cons: the con of the job was there was no lunch breaks.
This particular store was very high-paced. There were a lot of the same people that that came to the store everyday and I became familiar with their faces. The manager was very friendly and we became very close friends. It was kind of like a home away from home. The hardest part of the job was that it was located right beside a bar and the drunks came – more... in after the bar closed and got angry because they couldn't buy more alcohol. Everything else about the job was very enjoyable. – less

Fun environment with wonderful customers
Cashier (Current Employee), Farr West, UTJanuary 31, 2013
Pros: i am a people person, i meet a lot of amazing people
Cons: not enough hours and no medical insurance
My day consists of cleaning, stocking, greeting and helping customers. My manager is wonderful he helps when I need it and tries to get me as many hours as possible. I don't really see my co-workers, I work the day shift and am off by 12:30 to 3 pm. Hardest job is keeping up with the floors on bad weather days. And I don't have enough hours to live – more... comfertably. I enjoy the customers. I meet so many wonderful people. – less
