JOB SUMMARY: To assess the effectiveness of a business function and offer recommendations for improvement in accordance with a well-defined body of knowledge
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identify opportunities for improvement
Develop a project plan for implementing improvements
Monitor the new process to ensure it works as intended
Prepares reports and statistics to support progress/lack of progress
Coach employees on how to work more effectively by facilitating and training on specific ideas/concepts such as 8D methodology, fishbone analysis, kaizen, 5S and others
Improve quality, safety, productivity
Manage the quality system documentation
Supervise Quality Inspectors in day to day activities
Develop and deploy standardized work practices where applicable
Report to President on the overall status of the quality system
Prepare SR&ED claims to support development work undertaken
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Bachelors of Engineering Degree required
Able to work as part of a team as facilitator and teacher
Familiar with ISO 9001: 2008
Demonstrated abilities to assist with implementing lean practices
Proficient Excel and AutoCad
Strong analytical/problem solving skills
Must be able to work with stats and data
Strong written skills
Strong communication skills
Ability to exercise independent judgment
Able to manage confidential information
Inclined to pay attention to detail
Knowledgeable in manufacturing processes such as: machining, stamping and welding and powder metallurgy processes
