Edmonton Opera is dedicated to producing great performances that bring the powerful emotions of opera to our community for the last 49 years. We have an administrative office located in Winspear Centre and a production facility located on 15230 128 Ave.

We are currently looking for a Stewardship Officer to join our administrative team downtown. Reporting to the Director of Community Relations, you will be ensuring continued success and growth of Edmonton Opera’s fundraising program. You will meet the organization’s priorities by prospecting new and cultivating existing relationships within individual and corporate giving. You will be responsible for the stewardship and delivery of benefits to all areas of donations. Along with the director, you will be responsible for the planning and the success of all donor-related events, as well as donor receptions during opera performances. Some of the duties include:

  • Maintain donor records and activities in Tessitura, our ticketing software
  • Research and develop donor prospects and actively participate in donor stewardship and cultivation
  • Prepare regular reports for individual and corporate giving
  • Develop customized proposals and maintain all stewardship correspondence
  • Contribute to the development and co-ordination of various fundraising and marketing initiatives
  • Write grant proposals and reports to granting agencies and foundations
  • Participate in donation phone campaigns
  • Attend and contribute to events

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education with focus on fund development, sales and marketing
  • A minimum of 3 years previous experience in fund development area in a similar role in the not-for-profit sector
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written with professional and polished manners
  • Strong time management skills, with flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
