Volunteering at a long term care home means that you are gaining valuable hands on experience in the health care field. You may find that as you get to know some of our residents, you will come to know more about yourself. Volunteering at OUR long term care home means extremely flexible hours. It also means you will be helping us foster a culture in which residents are empowered to make choices and decisions about the care and services that they receive and which help them to achieve their goals, celebrate memorable and special events thereby promoting their quality of life.
In addition, we actively promote and support ongoing training and education programs to enhance personal and professional growth that will foster a person centered philosophy of care. Therefore, we provide our team with many avenues for continuous learning!
From Compassion to Action:
We offer a wide variety of volunteer programs from running a library cart within the home, board games, music therapy and monthly events! If you have it in you, we also offer fulfilling engagement with our palliative care team. If these activities do not gain your interest, we always encourage any suggestions.
Other activities & programs we offer:
- Java Music Club
- Board & Trivia Games
- Music Therapy
- Holiday/Seasonal events
- 1:1 companionship
- No One Dies Alone program
