We have an immediate opening located at our Mississauga, Ontario office for a Station Designer.

About The Job

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ~ Station Designer - Mechanical Engineer

  • Reviewing equipment and designing piping to interconnect equipment skids
  • Creating 3D models of stations
  • Create and dimension 2d drawings including general arrangement, structural steel, piping isometrics, layout and key plans
  • Create and update Process Flow Diagrams and Piping Instrumentation Diagrams
  • Checking redlines and review drawings
  • Guarantee proper specification descriptions
  • Plot/print and distribute drawings
  • Ensure up to date drawing revisions

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS ~ Station Designer – Mechanical Engineer

  • Professional Engineer with Bachelor's of Applied Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering with P.Eng. in Ontario

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS ~ Station Designer – Mechanical Engineer

  • Understanding of applicable codes and standards in Canada for piping and instrumentation
  • Familiarity with LNG station technologies is an asset
  • Minimum 3 years of verifiable and demonstrable chemical/process experience in the Oil & Gas Field, specific cryogenic experience strongly preferred
  • 2 or more years’ experience on applicable design software
  • Ability to own Process Flow Diagrams and Piping & Instrument Diagram
  • Field construction experience is an asset
  • Energy, Automotive or Heavy Equipment industry experience is an asset

SKILL REQUIREMENTS ~ Station Designer – Mechanical Engineer

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Solid knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Navisworks and Autodesk Inventor
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and work independently under minimal supervision
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy
  • High adaptability and autonomy
  • Ability to work effectively in a deadline-oriented and fast-paced team environment
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
