The General Project Manager has overall responsibility for the project. He supports Sales right from project initiation and in the contractual preparation of the project. He is then responsible for the implementation of the project in terms of deadlines, cost and quality and ensures that the focus is directed to the project aims. He brings the project team together and develops the project jointly with the team. He manages the project team throughout the duration of the project, ensuring that the project management standards, tools, methods and processes are applied properly.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supporting sales during the initiation phase;
  • Coordinating all parties involved in the project;
  • Primary contact for the customer after contract has been signed;
  • Contact for official authorities, experts etc., as required;
  • Ensuring an optimum flow of information during the project;
  • Project related management of project participants and support in case of conflicts;
  • Integrating any changes into the project process and communicating the effects to all parties affected;
  • Coordinating and controlling the site according to Construction Site / Project Organization;
  • Monitoring performance, quality and deadline control;
  • Cost control, as well as contract and claim management in cooperation with the Commercial Project Manager and the Electrical Works Manager if necessary;
  • Negotiations with subcontractors;
  • Continuous risk awareness, anticipating problems and if necessary, taking countermeasures actively;
  • Compiling the documentation set;
  • Ensuring implementation and compliance with HSE requirements;
  • Ensuring prompt completion of remaining tasks;
  • Coordinating the taking over of the turbines with the customer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 10 years of experience in project management;
  • Experience in construction of large scale projects;
  • Must be a member of the OIQ (Senior Engineer);
  • Must have the PMP designation;
  • Very stong communiation and negociation skills;
  • Very strong leadership skills;
  • Attention to details as much as being able to see the big picture;
  • Bilingual (EN and FR);
  • Willing to travel (50% of time).
