The QC Manager facilitates the quality assurance program for Dynacorp Fabricators Inc and supports the management group by ensuring quality standards are met and in adherence with our program.
Ensuring Pressure Vessels and Piping are fabricated in accordance with ASME Sec. VIII Div 1 and B31.3 current code years and addenda’s.
Building and keeping the QC data packages current to the stage of the project and inspection.
Providing customers with required data packages at the time of project completion.
Coordinating 3rd party inspections and determining hold points. Communicating those hold points with management for planning workforce activities and scheduling.
Coordinating ABSA for required hold points and inspections. Communicating inspection successes/failures with management.
Identifying nonconformities during fabrication process and communicating NCR’s with management. Completing NCR’s within one week of occurrence and sending to senior management.
Responsible for the coordination of Welder Testing
Ensures Quality Assurance procedures and practices are followed in accordance with our manual.
Develops and leads the Quality Management team
Ensure our Quality Manual distribution is controlled and documented.
Ensure drawings and calculations are in the job files and we have approved CRN’s prior to starting a job.
Identify and place holds on any materials that don’t meet the requirements of the construction drawings or code.
Check and approve Material Receiving report for material compliance and conformity to ASME Sec II current code year and addenda.
Following Inspection requirements and ABSA hold points as per the Travel Sheet 9.5 in the Quality Manual.
Ensuring the pressure welders are qualified in accordance with Dynacorp weld procedures, ASME Sec IX, and weld within qualified PQR. Coordinate any renewals or new testing.
Ensure Welder Continuity Log, Welder Index Log and Welder’s are qualified for the required procedures and materials required to be welded.
Identify non-conformities during fabrication, ensure hold tags are placed and management is notified.
Check Vessel or Piping fit-ups, Welder I.D, Weld fillet or throat sizes for compliance.
Ensure material is properly identified on Vessels as per the QMS manual.
Coordinate NDE examinations and PWHT by appointing subcontractors and ensuring they meet the proper qualifications in accordance with the Quality Manual.
Verify and ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and documented with current dates.
Implementing and verifying hydro tests, which include visual examination, pressure recorder chart & pressure gauge verification and documentation.
Ensure job file records are maintained in accordance with our Quality Manual. Paper copies filed and electronically scanned on Dynacorp file server
Prepare & Coordinate Repair/Alteration inspection plans.
Responsible for the stamping and installation of Name Plates.
Ensure Pressure Piping is fabricated/ inspected/ and documented in accordance with our Quality Manual.
Ensure AB-83 Reports are filled out and signed by Management or Customer representative.
Management & Cultural Responsibilities:
Provides direction & leadership,supports and holds the employees responsible and accountable formeeting their responsibilities, goals, commitments and provides the necessary information and leadership in this regard.
Outlining work expectations to ensure operational efficiency and productivity.
Reviewing and adjusting specific workforce activities and task schedules to meet established production schedules. Will identify and report any scheduling conflicts with management
Must be cognizant of the impact of decisions made and the affect on the operating culture of Dynacorp Fabricators.
Will evaluate and conduct performance reviews of the QC team for accountability with established guidelines, objectives of the business, and role in attaining objectives.
Recommending personnel actions such as hiring, promotions and corrective action.Applying the company’s discipline and corrective action policy where applicable.
Must identify and develop a successor as well as continue to recruit and select new team members.
Will mentor and coach team members towards professional development.
Will represent Dynacorp Fabricators in an ethical and professional manner of oral or written form internally or externally.
Will properly represent Dynacorp Fabricators as a member of the Grande Prairie community.
This is a shop position located in Clairmont, Alberta. Clairmont is a 10 minute drive North of Grande Prairie, Alberta. The Quality Control Manager position is considered a Safety Sensitive position and is subject to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
