Our client is a well established and very busy veterinary clinic located in Welland.
If you are an experienced (minimum one year), energetic, motivated and career minded Veterinary Technician (VT) with experience in performing duties that will ensure the quality care and treatment of animals, then you will be interested in this opportunity.
You will be responsible for providing daily care to animals and is responsible for cleaning duties in the kennel area as well as other areas where assigned. As a VT you may assist the Veterinarian with certain aspects of animal care/treatment procedures and perform other duties as assigned. You will perform all daily activities involved in the assistance of veterinarians in spay and neuter surgeries which include pre-operative assessment, pre-medication, induction, anesthesia, post-operative recovery, cleaning instruments, preparing surgical packs, and other duties as assigned. And of course we expect you to handle all animals with the utmost humane treatment, ensuring minimal stress.
S/he requires the ability to organize and co-ordinate assigned work to make informed decisions concerning animal health and treatment.
You must be a graduate of a two-year animal health technician or veterinary health technician college program or a three-year veterinary health technologist college program, and be eligible for registration with the Association of Veterinary Technologists. You will have a demonstrated ability to organize and co-ordinate assigned work in order to make informed decisions concerning animal health and treatment. And of course, a positive attitude, excellent customer service skills and a team player are a must!
