As any good organization like Dumas it is only as good as the peoples whom you work in direct contact.
Miner and Underground Supervisor (Former Employee) – Matachewan, ON – 28 April 2017
Dumas is a strong and capable company to work for. Very professional. The things that make it good are the people whom you work with. If your supervisor is a calm and respectable it will filter down to the men and women whom you work with. If the supervisor is aggressive and intolerable the negatives will flow down the line and affect the outcome of production and safety.
capable of taking on multiple jobs financially strong.
Old school mentality and disciplinary methods need to change.

Proactive - Great People to Work With - Great Atmosphere
Mine Site Clerk/Admistration (Former Employee) – Hoyle Pond Mine Site – 14 July 2016
Typical day at Hoyle Pond as Site Clerk was a constant flow of information prioritized to various departments for Dumas and for Client. Payroll deadlines/ issues, HR - Hiring/Terminations, Rate Changes - Purchasing for equipment / parts, Office supplies etc. Reports for Main Office and for Mine Site Client for quarter and month end reports. Updating information listings for phone, Project codes and various systems that required tracking and updating.
I learned a lot of new systems and how to manage day to day work loads in a timely manner and in order of importance for deadlines and needs of the mine for Dumas.
Co-Workers were the greatest team I have ever worked with. Always a happy atmosphere despite issues or problems that arose. We always solved on going challenges.
Every aspect of the job for myself was enjoyable even in the face of stress or issues. The love of problem solving made this a non-issue.
The hardest part of the job was trying to concentrate on all the changes from Dumas end and the Client all at the same time and juggling new processes and procedures.
Always a challenge and always something new to learn.
Constant revamping of systems for flow of information
Not the place to work if you want long time employment
Labourer (Former Employee) – Timmins, Ontario – 9 June 2012
Management needs to keep employees informed of when contracts are starting and finishing. The also need to keep local employees employed instead of catering to those that are from out of the area. They do not offer any training courses to trade workers. This employer does however offer good benifits and pay into an RRSP. Most contracts they have offer a 5-5-4 schedule which is great for spending time with family. The major downside is that it is a contractor and you could be working one day and unemployed the next.
