Our client is looking for experienced and self-motivated team player to assume the role of Corporate Accountant/Controller. The ideal candidate should have his accounting designation (CMA,CA or CGA) along with a minimum of 3 – 5 years of hands on accounting experience and the ability to supervise a group of professionals. You must be a strong communicator, a team motivator, articulate and exercises outstanding attention to detail and accuracy while working under tight timelines. You must be adaptable and open to growth opportunities and continuous learning.
Job Details:

  • Examine financial records and transactions,
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance to accounting standards,
  • procedures and internal controls,
  • Prepare reports and audit findings,
  • Recommend improvements to accounting systems and management practices,
  • Conduct field audits of businesses to ensure compliance with provisions of the Income Tax Act, the Canadian Business Corporations Act or other statutory requirements.
  • Plan, set up and administer accounting systems,
  • Prepare financial information for individuals, departments or companies,
  • Skills Examine accounting records, Prepare financial statements and reports,
  • Develop and maintain cost findings, reporting and internal control procedure
  • Analyze financial documents and reports, Provide financial, business and tax advice
  • Train staff, arrange training for staff,
  • Directly supervises accounting staff, oversees the workflow and conducts performance reviews

Job Requirements:

  • A recognized accounting designation, CMA,CA or CGA
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience in senior roles
  • The ability to supervise 10 staff or less
  • Must have hands on experience working with QuickBooks and Excel
  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines and attention to detail is a must
  • Strong communication skills, adaptable, reliable and dependable individual
